TOUCH RUGBY

As you can see Sons of Serevi RFC also have a mighty fine Touch Team which was formed at the same time as the 7s team in Summer 2006. Rather than having a separate team for Touch and 7s, the Touch Team is made up of the whole squad of Sons of Serevi RFC with players using the touch competitions to maintain their fitness and skills....As you can see, we have a very fine looking selection!

The Touch competitions we competed in last year were held on the evening of Monday night at LLandaf North RFC and we have played in previous competitions at St Peters RFC and Canton RFC. These excellent tournaments are organised by the Cardiff Touch Assocaition and Touch Rugby Wales. The tournaments for 2008 have yet to be confirmed for the Sons but details will be issued here as soon as they are announced. If a decision is made to play Touch this year we will be entering a mixed team. If you are keen to play touch rugby for Sons of Serevi then please get in touch.

If you know anyone who is insterested in Touch Rugby, please let them know about the Sons of Serevi RFC Cardiff Touch Team. I know its difficult to get together midweek every week and play, but WE NEED YOU!! Its great for a throw-about and it is perfect for practicing for when the big tournaments come around in the Summer. We will be having midweek training sessions when the evenings get lighter but for the time being its great for catching up with everyone and finely tuning those Fijian skills that we here at SOSRFC are so famous for...Plus its a great opportunity for a pint afterwards!

We are looking for both male and female players to sign up for touch rugby to join our mixed team. If you are interested in playing then please get in touch with the website for more details. Serevi has Daughters as well as Sons! There will be plenty of opportunities to play as we will be entering a Summer league when the warmer weather comes around. While the Touch league is primarily for fitness and skills development it also provides a great midweek opportunity to catch up with everyone on the latest developments on everthing that is happening and also usually turns into a night out!

	03.05.07 Sons Of Serevi start their Summer Touch campaign with the first introductory game at Hailey Park tonight. The Sons will play weekly as part of the competition run by Touch Rugby Wales which will take place at Hailey Park, Cardiff. Kick-off is scheduled to be at 7:15pm. Check above for future games details.
	03.05.07 The Sons enter an all-new team into the Touch competition this summer, featuring stars from LLandaf North RFC Aimee Williams, twins Katie and Natalie Watkins and Sarah Brockenshire. The girls will make up a vital part of the Sons mixed team using their speed and agility that some of the more veteran players maybe lacking!
	04.05.07 Sons (and Daughters!) of Serevi were unlucky with their first introductory game last night having lost to the Cardiff BaBarians. With the majority of the team getting to grips with the game, the sons and daughters battled hard but couldnt compete with the oppositions vast experience of the game. Congrats to Katie Watkins who ran over SOSRFCs first try of the Summer campaign and notched her first try for the club with a great break-away solo effort!
